Who We Are Seeking to Join our Team 

Advantage Group International is seeking a hands-on Transcriber/Coder (Market Research) to join our team to create accurate written versions of interview recordings, editing and coding to key engagement drivers and competencies that are essential for Advantage qualitative reporting. As this is a fully remote position, we are seeking a motivated team member who thrives on working autonomously and with the ability to meet deadlines. This is a full time, Monday to Friday position and will be reporting to Head of Qualitative Services ANZ.  

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A MARKET RESEARCH ROLE AND IS NOT A COMPUTER CODING ROLE

In other words, we need someone who:  

  • Has Market Research experience in Transcribing, Editing & Coding.  

  • Is open/adaptable to learning/using AI transcription/editing/coding software.  

  • Has proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel and Word. 

  • Has a minimum typing speed 70 words per minute. 

  • Has exceptional English written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Is highly developed understanding of English grammar, punctuation, spelling and syntax.  

  • Is a positive and committed team player with a strong work ethic. 

What Success Looks Like in this Role: 

Your role will be to support our Qualitative Research team. Your responsibilities will involve: 

  • Transcription: Convert audio or Teams recordings from interviews, by either traditional transcription methods or using Advantage proprietary AI software to convert voice to text.  

  • Editing: Ensure the transcriptions are an accurate representation of the interview and free from errors. Apply formatting, organising text into readable sections, adding timestamps or differentiating between speakers. 

  • Coding: Accurately code to sentiment, business area and Advantage proprietary Engagement Driver.  

  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary information discussed during the recordings. Adhere to privacy regulations and company policies to protect participant data. 

  • Quality Assurance: Review and edit transcriptions for accuracy, completeness, and clarity. Ensure that the final document accurately reflects the content of the recording.  Alert Head of Qual of any issues that may compromise transcription quality. 

  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time to meet deadlines, as directed by Head of Qual.  

  • Administration: Submit accurate timesheets & daily logs to Head of Qual as directed in a timely manner. Attend Transcription Team meetings as required to discuss or provide feedback on any issues and attend briefings on upcoming programs.   

  • Understanding Market Research Terms: Familiarise yourself with Advantage market research terminology and industry-specific jargon to ensure precise transcription and understanding of context. 

  • Communication: Coordinate with Head of Qual to clarify any unclear sections of the recordings or to confirm specific details.  Communicate openly any issues in relation to capacity or ability to meeting deadlines. 

  • Software Proficiency: Utilise transcription software or tools as required. Stay updated on the latest technology and tools to enhance transcription efficiency and accuracy. Implement globally led trials and rollouts as required. 

  • Documentation and Filing: Maintain organised records of transcribed documents and related project files as directed by Head of Qual. Upload all transcribed, edited and coded documents at close of business day. Ensure that all documentation is easily accessible and properly archived. 

The Capabilities and Skills that Matter:  

You should have hands-on experience with most of the following, demonstrating a practical, craftsman-like approach:  

  • Experience in Market Research Editing & Coding 

  • Proficient and confident in Microsoft Office & Excel  

  • Dynamic, energetic, positive, committed attitude 

  • Highly organised, attention to detail 

  • Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills.   

  • Highly developed understanding of English grammar, punctuation, spelling and syntax.  You need to understand how grammar and punctuation can convey or change a speaker’s intended meaning.  

  • Advanced grammar, editing, proofreading and report-writing skills.  

  • Ability to work autonomously in a home or office environment. You must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and be able to take the initiative when searching for information. 

  • Open and honest communication. You need to be able to communicate with your manager in relation to your work, particularly about your ability to meet deadlines. 

  • Flexible and ability to adapt to change. 

  • Knowledge and experience of the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods industry (FMCG) is desired but not essential 

Location:
